Source hierarchy
- State supreme courts, bar associations, attorney-registration agencies, and official disciplinary records for admission and public license status.
- Courts, legislatures, regulators, and government agencies for laws, rules, public-health information, and public records.
- U.S. Census Bureau materials for metropolitan-area definitions and population-based coverage decisions.
- A firm's own website for self-reported offices, practice areas, biographies, languages, consultation terms, awards, and results.
- Independent publications and directories as secondary leads that require verification before use.
How sources appear on profiles
Profiles identify a last-researched date and provide direct source links for important facts where practical. Firm-provided claims are attributed to the firm. A source link allows readers to inspect current information; it does not mean the source endorses our site or summary.
Ratings and review platforms
Ratings change and platform scopes, scoring methods, moderation, and reuse terms differ. We match the exact entity and label whether a profile covers an office, headquarters group, or business domain. We never average scores from different platforms. Without provider-authorized access and a refresh process, we link to the current profile rather than reproducing its score, count, or review-derived themes.
Licensing and discipline
License status and disciplinary history should be confirmed directly with the relevant state authority. We report only what a public source supports and distinguish final public action from allegations, pending matters, and historical status.
