What the directory is
The directory is a research resource. It does not rank firms, recommend one firm over another, predict results, or match a consumer to a lawyer. Draft and incomplete pages remain excluded from indexing; every published page must complete the checks below.
The directory is not exhaustive. A firm that is not listed may still be qualified, and a listed firm may not be right for a particular matter.
How metro areas are selected
We begin with large U.S. metropolitan statistical areas using a published U.S. Census Bureau population dataset identified on our Sources page. Coverage may be released in stages, so the set of available metro guides can be smaller than the planned coverage area.
Baseline inclusion criteria
- The firm publicly identifies personal injury or a related plaintiff-side injury practice.
- Public records support that at least one identified attorney is authorized to practice in the relevant state at the time of review.
- The firm has a verifiable office in, or publicly states that it serves, the location shown. We distinguish an office from a broader service area.
- Enough reliable public information is available to create a useful, attributable profile.
How we research a profile
Research uses the firm's own website and identified public sources, with source links and access dates attached to profile text. AI-assisted drafting and separate source checks may help prepare a draft. A responsible human editor must approve factual and licensing checks before publication; automated review is not represented as human approval.
Statements about practice areas, service locations, languages, consultations, fees, case results, or awards may come from the firm and are described as firm-provided unless independently verified. Past results do not predict a future outcome.
Ratings and reviews
We match each external review profile to a specific firm, domain, headquarters group, or office and label that scope. Platform results remain separate: a Google location score, a Trustpilot domain profile, a BBB entity profile, and an attorney-directory score do not measure the same subject and cannot be responsibly blended into one average.
We publish a provider's numerical score or review count only when authorized data access, attribution, entity matching, and a defined refresh schedule are in place. Any future review-theme summary must use an authorized, reproducible sample, apply the same threshold to favorable and critical themes, describe people as reviewers rather than clients unless that status is verified, and pass an independent editorial check.
We do not copy review prose, emit third-party AggregateRating markup, write or buy reviews, suppress criticism, or let review data change organic inclusion or alphabetical order. Until a provider-specific integration clears these gates, we link to the current platform profile instead of reproducing its metrics.
Order and filters
Directory listings are presented alphabetically within the filters a reader chooses unless the interface clearly identifies another factual sort selected by the reader. Placement is not a quality ranking. Google-powered site-search results are generated by Google and are separate from the directory's filters.
Updates and limitations
Each profile shows when it was last researched. We schedule profiles for review at least annually and review supported correction requests sooner. Public records and firm information can change between reviews.
We may decline, pause, or remove a profile when key information cannot be verified, a source becomes unavailable, the profile would be misleading, or publication would conflict with our standards. Removal is not necessarily a statement about a firm's quality or conduct.
Advertising does not change the method
Firms cannot pay to enter the editorial directory, change a profile, improve placement, or remove accurate criticism. Any future paid placement will be visually separate and labeled as an advertisement. See our Advertising Disclosure for details.
